Local Instrument Rack (LIR) and Local Instrument Enclosure (LIE)

Local Instrument Rack (LIR) and Local Instrument Enclosure (LIE)

.We, Fit-Tech Engineering Co. also offer Local Instrument Racks which have an open mounting facility, and Local Instrument Enclosures which have a closed mounting facility to mount Transmitters and its related instruments. LIR’s are usually placed and operated under closed places and LIE’s can be used in open areas where instruments are exposed to dust and various weather conditions. As Local Instrument Rack is an open facility to mount instruments, so it facilitates easy operation and maintenance of instruments. Local Instrument Racks are provided with overhead Canopy. Local Instrument Racks and Local Instrument Enclosures are provided with facilities to mount Pressure Transmitters and Differential Pressure Transmitters, Globe Valves, Manifold Valves, and Ball Valves. Fit-Tech Engineering Co. also offers various designs and types of LIR’s and LIE’s for Transmitters and related Instruments.

In any processing activity involving the measurement of process variables like pressure, flow, and level of gas, steam, or fluid and temperature of static and dynamic elements, transmitters are used. These measurements are extremely critical for satisfactory and trouble free operation of a plant. The transmitter converts these physical parameters to electrical signals which are further fed into the plant DAS or DM. Since the transmitters are housed in the fields near the source of the origin of the signal, special provision for their mounting has to be provided. As per the field location, the transmitters and related equipment may be housed in racks or in enclosures.

Enclosures are cubicles which, besides providing proper support for mounting of local instruments, provide protection against ingress of dust and water. These are put in places where the presence of moisture and impurities may impede the proper functioning of the equipment and on the other hand, racks are free standing structures for supporting local instruments. These are placed at locations where the atmosphere is clean and free from impurities.
